My review of 2012 is not the best a lot of good things happen and so did a lot of negative things just at school itself. The Positive things are that I managed to get through the year without some major interruptions and that I didn’t get into any Major trouble. That I managed to finish some of my work. Was helpful around school towards the little kids and to people that really needed my help when they did. Also I was pushing people to succeed and not to end up on the side of the road begging people for money.
The negative things were. That I didn’t finish all of my work and left some things either unfinished off or not even started, that I was constantly in trouble because I was always joking around, wondering around or just talking in the wrong time. But the biggest thing was that I was a hassle to my teacher and was always bothering her with non-sense that I shouldn’t when I was wasting her time while she was teaching others .

The Farm - Intro
As the dark of the moon fell and the rays of the sun shone through the clouds the grass was left swampy. “Hurry up eh” shouted Bob at Frank . Bob is a tall slim man this is always cranky and always scrunches his nose up and Frank is a rather girly kind of person he likes taking his time putting on makeup and taking forever in the shower”. Were gonna be late” Bob had been sitting in the car for hours waiting to go for a swim in his creek, “I’m coming” shouted Frank back to Bob .
In A Bush - Writing Sample
It was a normal summer day, birds chirping kids laughing, people enjoying themselves. When the family decided to go for a walk “Man i’ve been sitting at home all day and its been boring can we go somewhere” moaned Shawn, he was the youngest in the family, he was the energetic one he wanted to go all kind of places and do new interesting things.
“Fine then” said shawn’s mum Shawny “We’ll, go through the old bush walk”. Shawny was tall and very slim with beautiful blonde hair and stunning red eyes. So everyone piled into the car put on their seat belts and off they went, it was a 80 minute drive to the bush walk but it was very worthwhile it had beautiful views and to see all of the New Zealand Native Trees it made it even better. When suddenly out of nowhere a drips of water fell from the sky before you knew it everyone was getting soaked.
So they grabbed their Rain Jackets and their umbrella’s and dashed into the bush walk one after another, Seeing all of the views they were stunning and after hours and hours of adventuring it was still raining heavily there was rain dripping off leaves, fingertips, and even jackets.
After everyone was home safe and sound Shany had noticed something awkward “Where’s Shawn” gasped Shawny, “I don’t know” muttered everyone. Now everyone was frightened. Many years passed and the family was still morning for their lost family member but before they were going to give up on hope,
the older sister ‘Megan’ had met a boy that she had fallen deeply in love with so everyone wanted to meet him and then Megan brought the boy back to her house and as soon as the mother seen him she felt a weird vibe and asked the boy what his name was and who his parents were the boy replied easily with.
“Hi my name is Shawn, um I don’t know that much about my family” “You see when I was younger I wandered off and got lost when we went for a bushwalk and I haven’t seen them since”. Instantly Shawny flew to the boy and greeted him with a big hug because she had found her lost son that had been missing for year everyone was still puzzled until shawny said “welcome home my son I have missed you soo much”.

Basketball - Eastern Zone Tournament
On Tuesday, 21 August the Point England Basketball boys went to Selwyn college to participate in the Eastern Zone Basketball Competition. We went into the competition pumped and ready than we got to our first game all of us were burning with excitement as we took the court. As the whistle went off, the game had finally started. Point England, Vs. St Heliers .
So as we continued our game we got more and more into the game. It got really intense so the harder we had to play, our teams were almost even but the other team had the height advantage. As my team stood on the sideline watching. We finally got subbed on. As we took the court and prepared it was hard as we threw the ball down the court than shooting the other team would get the ball and run down the court and sooner score. Later on the game had finally come to an end, ending with us losing 9-27
Our final game was against Panmure District, it was an outstanding game for all of the basketball boys. All of us had been a bit down from not winning our 2nd, 1st game so we took our intentions to win our final game against Panmure. We passed, we jumped, we ran, we shot. Soon after we had finally dominated the team in points they would get the ball and we would take it run down court, shoot and then get a score. Soon after the game started it ended with us coming out on top winning 2-37

Animators Apprentice
Last Week on Thursday, The Point England Extensions group had 3 visitors from Auckland museum. One man by the name of Ali another by he name or Maka and the last one named, Nils. These 3 were very talented artist who taught us about the 1900's and how animations were created. Although it was a very long journey back in time it was still fun too learn how people use to make animations not on a computer but by hand !!
The very first thing they taught us how to find the middle of two lines although it looked quite easy it was a very difficult challenge. Most people wouldn't have got the line in the right place in 1 go. So after that we had a piece of paper with 2 line on them it was in the form of a jelly fish, and we had to find between these lines. It took awhile, but everyone soon finished than we got the chance to do something more creative.
We than had to add a little bit more detail, to our creations such as colour, hair (optional) etc. Than when we thought we were finished we took our creations and put them into a Zoetrope. Ali than spun the Zoetrope and we had too look between the cuts in the side. When we looked through them, we saw our creations moving. But then again if we looked through the top we would only see a blur, ruining your artwork.

Olympics - Valerie Adams
Hanging her head with despair Valerie Adams showed her disappointment at her defeat. The realisation that she could no longer defend her gold medal, she had won in Beijing, A mixture of feelings show on Valerie’s face she couldn’t help but hold her tears back. She was very disappointed, because of all the training and build up for the Olympics.

Brown Brother
BROWN BROTHER.....
Joshua Iosefo is a Mt Roskill prefect who was asked to do a speech about his life for polynesians. In his poem he has stated that anyone with faith can graduate and go on with their dream. Dedication, Desire and Determination. These are the three things that polynesians and Maori need, to strive to succeed and to believe.
We are strong people with a lot of pride in our culture and we are not people who think that we are at the bottom of the food chain. That we can graduate and that we are very intelligent beings and that just because we are low academics it still means we can learn more and still graduate. Also it means that we are not people who don't have jobs but if we did we were rubbish truck drivers we are more to than the eye can see more than just a victim of teen pregnancy we are brown people with pride deep inside
The message to me was to not limit yourself and to reach for the stars and that you can achieve more than you think you can and that limiting yourself will only make you achieve lower. Then you won’t be able to reach your full potential. Also that it will make people think more and more that us brown people will not go far in life that we'll drop out of school and become people who live off the pension and do nothing but sit around all day waiting for a job to come to us.

Precious McKenzie - Weight Lifter
The weightlifters face, hard like a stone looked as if he was about to punch anyone that came in his way, bar to his chest and about to do the final lift. The crowd had gone wild as soon as the weightlifter, Precious McKenzie gripped the bar and with a grunt he pushed all his weight into the air. Now that was success!

My Friend Description - Kayde Inia
The friend I have decided to write about was a close friend of mine and his name is Kayde. He is a interesting friend. Short, chubby light coloured skin is the 3 easiest words to describe him. He isn’t as tall as a tree and small as a mouse.
He is a very energetic person he is always up for a game of rugby or so. Also when there is complete silence he always says something awkward just put smiles on peoples faces. Whenever he around it feels as if the room will be filled with laughter.
The thing that I know that interest Kayde is got to be rugby whenever the subject were talking about is boring he jumps straight into talking about rugby no matter who’s around. He is a Huge fan of the Vodafone Warriors and he is rooting for NSW to win.
When im around kayde im always having fun i’m never bored there's always something that pops into his head for us to do at times. Whether it’s evil or good we always do it anyway if we get into trouble we always get into trouble together we always make eachother laugh, and keep each other company and always have fun. The End

Character Description - Ella
Ella. Scrolled down the list heart thumping, about to jump out of her body. When bang she landed on her name the joy that shot through her body like a bolt of electricity going through power lines. She jumped for joy and everyone around her wondered why she was acting weird. She had made it in the team !.
She jumped and twisted and twirled than stood there staring at her friends with a big grin across her face, telling her friends that she had finally made the team. The girl was a very talented netball player and she also represented the school in every single way possible. But then again she lacked the confidence to in her abilities. So she was still staring at the board. Stoked about being on the list.

Charles F. Goldie
The painting I have chose to re-produce was A Noble Relic of A Noble Race, Wharekauri Tahuna of Ngati Manawa. This was painted 1910 AD the man in the portrait died at an old age of 102. It was painted in Ngati Manawa a.k.a Bay of Plenty. The paintings origin is obviously Aotearoa, And it was painted with oil on canvas. The thing that took my eye was the moko around his face, it grabbed my attention to all the little details to it and the meaning towards it.
Charles Frederick Goldie was born on October 20th. He was raised by his mother and father. David Goldie and Maria Parkington they were a poor family and didn’t have much things. Charles was raised in a family with 7 other siblings 8 including himself. David Goldie Charles father was a timber merchant, politician and a strict Primitive Methodist.
This term in Extension, we were given a task to pick one of Charles Frederick Goldie. The painting that I have chosen to reproduce was 'A Noble Relic of A Noble Race'. This is a painting of an old maori man that is sitting down resting. The thing that I found out was the most challenging was the Moko because all of the little detail that was in it, there was so many things that I couldn't get into the moko like all little detailed bits that had too many detail to get in. Also the wrinkles that I couldn't do.
I hope that anyone that comes to the Point England Art Exhibition that is taking place at our own school. I Hope that people come because all the students in the school have put all there effort into it.

Kiwi Kick
As we arrived at the courts, the wind slapped my face, it felt as if its hands were as cold as neptune. It gave me chills down my back and made the hair on my neck stand tall. My abdomen was cold and my teeth chattered and than my body started to feel numb all over. I quickly sat down waiting for something to happen.
At first we had to find ourselves a teammate my team mate was a good friend of mine Matthew, between us we had to pick who was going to be a Polar Bear or a Penguin. I got picked as a penguin but it was okay. So I had to go and get the ball, I had to run back I was so jittery and jumpy that at one point the ball shot through my hands and went into the sky.
The ball flew forward and back like we were playing a game of soccer in the air. “To me Matthew not towards the toilets” I shouted at him whenever he passed it to me it either flew to the sides of me or over me. Whichever one I picked it still wasn’t good!. So we decided that if we were closer maybe, it would’ve been better.
At the end of the day we all had something new to show others in AFL ( Australian Football League ). Its always fun to go to Kiwi Kick. You always learn something new and its fun to learn how to play the game itself.

Matisse and Picasso Analysis
In Room 20 we had to study two artist by the names of Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. We then had to analyse two of their famous artworks Picasso's A Weeping Woman and Matisse's A Woman With A Hat. Picasso is a Cubist artist, which means that in the majority of his painting he included different perspectives and often geometric shapes. Matisse's style on the other hand is Fauvism, meant he paints with unrealistic colours.
Picasso was born on October the 25th 1881 and then later died in April 8th 1973 at an old age of 92 and Matisse was born on December 31st 1869 dying on the 3rd of November 1954 at a old age of 84. Both artist were outstanding but they each had different types of art compared to each other. Picasso in most of his artwork had more than one perspective. Matisse always had more than one unrealistic colour in his artworks.
The themes of the art were all so different Picasso had painted the woman in a sad way due to there being a spanish civil war going on which resolved in Picasso's painting ‘Guernica’. Picasso’s ‘A Weeping Woman’ showed how sad she was due to all of the war going on in Spain. While Matisse’s ‘A Woman With a Hat’ based on an expressionless painting. He was more concerned about trying out different colours, and trying out a different painting style.
The two, have both different colours too it. Matisse used unrealistic colours in his painting but whenever it came to shading he always used some other colour to show it instead of just making a colour darker to match it. Picasso when he painted he used shades of yellow and he didn’t use shading all that much.
Picasso used dark black outlines, while Matisse used rough textures some clear outlines. Picasso used Mostly sharp jagged lines, and distorted perspectives. While Matisse on the other hand used many blurred out and they were smudged as well.
What I have summarised from all of this is that Matisse and Picasso are both different What I have summarised from all of this is that Matisse and Picasso are both different painters in nearly every way. They both had different themes, to it and the shading was completely different. An with all of this data I have concluded that they were both weird artist’s and that could barely ever paint a proper portrait without having either different perspectives or oddly coloured people. So to me the only thing I can say that compares them completely is that they are both weird people.

My Les Twins Reflection
In extension we were given a task to research a person to do a Bio on them. It wasn't all that hard at first we had to get some information on them and then we had to put together a presentation, unfortunately I never finished my presentation which was suppose to be 2 minutes i only ended up with a 16sec presentation.
But with all the information I gathered on the Les Twins was important I think that I had to more or less revolve around the putting everything together part of it. Next time I should make the effort to actually do the things that I know that I have to get finished and not muck around. So for our next task gien im going to put all my time into my project.
What I have concluded is that the Les Twins are a good duo together and that they took a lot of time into doing things that they wanted to achieve and to get where they are now. It might of taken some time but you have to be patient because you don't become famous in one day. The End

Show Not Tell - Raining
As I quietly walked through the streets, water was all over the ground. Puddles were everywhere with leaves in them like fallen soldiers. Water poured all over my face dropping off the tip of leaves and onto my hair. The streets were quiet and the sun was still arising, hazy through the mist while rain still fell like being poured out of a watering can. It was cold as Ice but as smooth as silk on my a skin.

Vincent Van Gogh - Starry Night
Starry Night was painted by the world famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. This is a very beautiful artwork. It is not so much a bright coloured picture, it can almost predict that he was painting at night time. In this painting the technique he used had got to be just little strokes and not just dragging the paintbrush across the paper, It looks like he was painting over a town during the night as people slept. He always used a different variety of colour it was either bright colours or dark colours.
